** Ruined Relationships Photoshoot**

One of my flatmates is studying photography and his new product is based around "ruins" so he came up with the idea to show the effects of ruined relationships. We decided to show this through make-up and expression, we wanted to make the girls look like they had gone through physical and emotional abuse due to broken down relationships.

My aim was to make it look like the girls had been crying/fighting.
I did this with eye shadow and dripping water over the girls faces when their mascara was still wet.

** My February Favorites***

This is a bit late as we are already over a week into March but i'm going to share with you my February favorites!

Colour sensation lipstick in Tantalizing Taupe (Maybelline)

Through out February i found myself reaching for this lipstick on a daily basis, its brown toned nude shade. When ever i buy nude lipsticks i never go for brown tones..always pink however i got this for my birthday and after trying it on once i loved it. It's really moisturizing and a perfect nude for girls with pale skin! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

Baby skin primer (Maybelline)

This product is described as a lightweight primer that leaves your skin looking smooth and poreless. I haven't used many primers before because i never really thought they did anything to my skin until this one. This primer is clear and has a silicone texture, it leaves my skin feeling and looking soft. It also helps my foundation stay on all day without needing to touch up.

Expert wear blush in 79 flash plum (Maybelline)

I have quite a few blushers but i found i reached for this one the most during February, it's a plummy color with gold flecks of glitter, i didn't feel i had to use a highlighter when using this due to the shimmer! I loved this blush but sadly as i was writing this post i dropped and its now in bits! :( ITS BADLY PACKAGED.

Max factor 3 in 1 foundation.

i have a whole post on this foundation  so wont bore you with it too much but thought that i would just mention it as im still loving it! i even  bought a new foundation after finishing it and ended up hating the new foundation and going back to boots to get this one again!

Orly Nail Varnish

I  currently have claw acrylics on and i am able to change the nail varnish like normal nails and this is the colour i have been wearing all month. Its a very deep red! IT TAKES AGES TO CHIP.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Since getting this palette for my birthday in January i have been loving it! The rose tones suit my eye colour and i prefer this palette more than 1 & 2!  My favorite colour is Liar!
(ill do a review of this palette soon)

Victoria Secret perfume spray in Sensual Jasmine.

I have been spraying this non stop, as its a perfume and not one of the body mists they last for two hours longer on the skin. I think the women in the shop said you can still smell it on clothing after 6 hours!
THIS SCENT IS SO NICE, it apparently smells like "twilight jasmine & Sultry Amber"
Its a sweet fresh scent but not too girly...just go and smell it!!! <3

*** Katy Perry Inspired Make-Up Look ***

I am a big fan  of Katy Perry and always think her make-up looks so nice in her music videos, after watching her latest video "Dark Horse" i decided i wanted to try and re create the blue look she was wearing.

This look did take longer than i thought it would due to the eyeliner being so tricky to do underneath the eye! i re did it about 4 times! Im pretty sure they used stage make-up or paint in the video.

This is the look i was trying to re create!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KSOMA3QBU0

This is as close i could get the look with the products that i have! looking at the pictures together i think i would have brought the grey crease colour higher but other than that i think it looks similar :)
My camera didn't pick it up but over the gold shadow i do have gold glitter layered over it!

The products i used:
* 120 eye shadow palette (Ebay) Click here to find
* Naked 2 palette (Urban Decay)
* Liquid eyeliner (Miss sporty)
* Felt tip eyeliner scandaleyes thick & thin (Rimmel)
* Gel Eyeliner (unknown)
* Gold gel glitter (unknown)
* Mascara (Falsies by maybelline)

How:
* I used a blue & grey from the 120 palette on they eyelid and crease.
* I did all the eyeliner with the felt tip liner first and then went over it with the liquid.
* I used the gold colour from the naked 2 palette.
* I put gold gel glitter over all the gold shadow.
* Mascara and gel eyeliner on the water line.

Thank you for have a look, leave your blog in  the comments and ill have a look :)

**** Rose Queen Bath Bomb ****

When i go home from university at the weekend i ALWAYS have a bath and this weekend for some reason i really wanted a bath bombs or something that left flowers in the water! (i think tumblr influenced this idea haha)
So when i went into lush with my friends Samantha on the Thursday i actually asked the women if she could recommend me on a bath bomb that would meet my flowery needs haha. She told me to get either "Rose Queen" or "Tisty Tosty" and so i went with "Rose Queen" purely  because it was pink!

On the Lush website this bath bomb is described as " filled with petals including blue mallow, tiger lily, honeysuckle, apple blossom and amaranth flower, which swirl around you in rosy pink water. Rose absolute, which we make out of Damask roses from Turkey, lifts the mood and is used in aromatherapy to treat sadness and depression. It’s extremely beneficial to the skin, particularly dry, mature, or irritated skin. Rose Queen also contains rock rose (cistus oil), another calming, uplifting essential oil which adds a sweet, honeyed note to the perfume."

This bath bomb smells really nice if your into your sweet floral scents and the flower petals do look pretty however..i found it rather boring! it didn't really change the colour of the water and i missed having bubbles. i was actually scared to put my hair in the bath also in case the flowers got stuck in my hair!

The bomb does  make the bath very moisturizing and smell lovely but i found it quite oily and my skin HATES oils!
To be honest as pretty as this bomb does make the bath look..i don't think ill be buying it again! I might have to go into Lush this week and get another bomb to try!!

Price: £2.75

** How i clean my make-up brushes! **

Hello my beauts!
its time to clean my brushes so i thought id do a post on the way i clean them! There are a few ways  that you can clean your brushes including already formulated cleaning liquids that you can buy from m.a.c and other company's, however i choose to do it the way i am going to show you because i believe its the best way to clean and disinfect your brushes.

A lot of people don't realize how much bacteria, germs and dust settle inside the bristles of make-up brushes! Doing your make-up with dirty brushes can cause breakouts and acne ESPECIALLY if you have done your make-up when you have had spots and used the brush the next day. The bacteria and germs can be spread to other parts of your face causing more breakouts so i advise cleaning your brush straight after using it on breakouts or using your fingers to go over the problem areas instead!

If my skin has been fine that week then i do only do a full clean of my brushes about once a week however i will admit that i do get lazy with it and can leave them for longer than that. When  i do  make-up on other people i clean my brushes before and after using them or i use sponges and don't take my personal brushes with me.

What i use:
Surgical spirit
Baby shampoo
Kitchen roll
water

Surgical spirit: This is a rubbing alcohol that is usually used to clean cuts and piercings, its germ killing properties are perfect for cleaning brushes as it gets rid of any dirt and bacteria. You can buy it in most places such as: boots, superdrug, amazon, body care and ebay.

baby shampoo: I use baby shampoo as it doesn't contain any harsh cleaning chemicals that can ruin brush hairs, it is also very moisturizing so leaves your brushes soft and smelling like babies haha!

Before starting i put some surgical spirit into a spray bottle to make it easier to get onto the brush.
For a eye make-up brushes i spray about 2 - 3 pumps onto the front and  back and then swirl the brush around on a piece of kitchen roll to get rid of any dirt and make-up. I do this until it looks like all the make up has come of the brush and nothing is really coming of the brush onto the kitchen roll anymore.

if  i need to clean an eye brush due to being used with a dark colour during the week and needing it the next day i will just do this step until i do the full clean at the weekend.

When doing this with big face brushes just use more surgical spirit and make sure you get inside the brush bristles not just the top and outside.

I then put some baby shampoo into the palm of my hand, swirl the bush around and squeeze the dirt out. I will rinse the brush under the cold water tap while squeezing the bristles..if the water running of the brush is still dirty.. put more shampoo onto your hand and do it again. eye make up brushes usually only need to be washed once but foundation, powder, blusher ect brushes will need this step doing 2 - 3 times to remove all the make-up.

When the water coming off  and squeezing out of the brush is clear..you have a nice clean and disinfected brush! YEY!!

** TIP: DO NOT USE HOT WATER ON BRUSHES! Only use cold or lukewarm water as if its too hot it can make the glue in the handle melt and your bristles will start to fall out when doing your make-up!***

To dry my brushes i shape them so they dry in the correct shape and then lay them flat on a towel. I usually put them on my towel rail over the radiator or on my windowsill so again they are near the radiator to dry them! I normally clean  my brushes at night and leave them to dry while i sleep so i wake up and can use them in the morning. Some make-up brushes take longer to dry than others such as face brushes! You can use  a hair dryer to speed up the drying process but make sure its on the cold setting as like i said before if its hot it will melt the glue!
